June 21st, 2023 - Tears of the Lost

I cried today. Not because I was hurt physically or mentally.
I cried today, because the souls of the lost had bestowed their emotions on me.
The feeling of betrayal from my own people
The feeling of betrayal from people I trust
The feeling of betrayal from God.
I cried today.
The lost is not forgotten but found in the present
the sounds of the children that were crying and screaming were replaced by The sounds of the children laughing and playing
the future is hopeful and the people are strong.
Rwandan Strong.

My name in Min. I am sophomore and my major is theater arts. I am Burmese but I was born in Thailand and left when I was 4 years old so I grew up in Buffalo. I chose this trip because it is a once in a lifetime experience. Not everyone can have the chance to experience this and I’m hoping to gain a lot of growth as a human. I’m hoping to have better perspective on life and would love to share that with people I’m close with when I return.
